Holymen (Aghori) Photography
The meaning of the word Holymen (Aghori) is hidden in its name itself someone who has done hard worship or tough meditation. Holymen (Aghori) spend their life in places where people are afraid to step foot. Where people cannot even stand an Holymen (Aghori) sets up his gathering. Maybe this is why people are afraid of Holymen (Aghori) because their look is scary and very frightening, as Holymen (Aghori) usually carry a human skull with them and even eat and drink in it. From the beginning, Aghoris spend their life in the worship of Lord Shiva.
The big thing is that in this world where normal humans like you and me keep fighting over truth and lies, an Aghori gives up everything and finds the ultimate truth, because truth is the reality of death. We normal humans use expensive cream, powder, soap, and shampoo to make the body clean and beautiful, but an Aghori rubs and applies the ash of the burning body on his whole body, because he believes that if not today then tomorrow all beauty will turn into ash like this.
For an Aghori, no thing is good or bad, because they believe that when everything is made by God, then who to hate, how, and why? Normal humans hate every thing that is dirty, but for an Aghori no thing is dirty or bad. Aghoris even cook their food on a burning body, and sleep and live among rotting dead bodies, because they do not hate anything.
In Varanasi, there is an ashram named Baba Keenaram, which is considered the center of Aghoris, where a water tank is very famous. By drinking the water from there, diseases like leprosy get cured. Leprosy is a disease such that if someone in the family gets it, people leave them on the road, and an Aghori cleans it with his own hands because an Aghori never hates.
If we talk about an Aghori’s worship, they do worship at night at the cremation ground in front of burning bodies.
And there are still many things left to know and understand about them. But just describing all these sacred and hidden places in words or seeing them in photos is not enough, you have to feel it yourself.
